Hello, I'm Kaylee

Photographer

Hi, it is so nice to meet you!

Making bios about myself has always felt a little strange, but the car is here so jump on in.

Photography has been an outlet for me most of my life. I always loved getting those disposable cameras from the store and seeing how the photos would turn out. For me, that was like getting a pack of Pokemon cards from the check-out lane at Wal-Mart. I also liked those and my husband loves to check for Pokemon cards every time we go to the store. Eevee was my favorite, in case you were wondering. I graduated from the disposable camera to a Kodak EasyShare. I won my first photography award at the county fair with that camera. I earned $10 for my hard work.

My family saw how much I loved photography and got me my first Nikon in 2010. That baby was attached to my hip, everywhere I went. Salt and pepper shaker on a table? Picture. Peculiar piece of metal near a tree? Picture. A dumpster in an alley? Picture. I was taking photos of literally everything. Things shifted when I started including friends in the photos. My junior and senior year, I started doing portrait photography and it only grew from there.

While writing this, I went and looked at old photos from this period of time and I feel so fortunate that I was able to capture the memories that I did. I want my shoots to feel exactly how it felt when I was showing up to a random field with my friends for an impromptu photoshoot. We were there to have fun and make the most of our time. That energy is unmatched and I hope to carry this into your session.

If you haven’t caught on yet, I’m a little sarcastic, but I also have a very soft heart. I cry during movies, yoga calms my soul, and seeing the emotions during weddings fills my heart right up. I will absolutely bend over backwards (sometimes literally) to make sure we get your photos. I keep things lighthearted because life is hard enough—your photos shouldn’t be.

Other Things I love:

  • Music: I’m also a big music lover (yes, heavy metal included), and we go to Sonic Temple every year. If you’re going too, message me—we might just end up doing an impromptu photoshoot. I am also a huge fan of Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and yes . . . Nickelback
  • The Columbus Crew: Steven Moreira, please, never leave us.
  • All fuzzy creatures: I especially have a soft spot for cats. My cat, Len Boi, set the bar very high. I'd love to meet your cats and pups to compare notes.
  • Data! This may seem strange, but I love data analytics and diving deep into research.
  • Painting: I love to paint and I love looking at paintings. My heart melts for impressionist style pieces.
  • BGSU: I am a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University. Talons Up!
  • Running: I never thought I would write this, but here we are. My husband is a Cross County and Track coach and this has become a consistent part of my life. I actually, genuinely enjoy running. See you soon, Cap City!

Speaking of my husband, I am very fortunate to have him in my life as I pursue my creative passions. Landon does such important work as a School Counselor. Not only does he support his students but he provides me with love and motivation as I continue this journey. I also draw inspiration from my mother, Sommer, who is a creative at heart and was also a small business owner. Being a local artist in Gahanna and the Columbus area is a dream come true.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my art. I've got a lot of love to share with the world. I am excited to have the opportunity to share my journey with you, and I look forward to working with you in the future.

Kind words from

Kaylee worked so well with both of my rowdy kids, she assisted with posing us for pictures or giving activities for candids! Timely editing, and absolutely wonderful photos.
