Part 1

Hello, Hello!
I am new to writing blogs, so bear with me. I couldn't not share information on this project I am working on! So . . . here it goes:
This year, I am highlighting Columbus area waterfalls through a series of mini sessions. I've always been a fan of landscapes, from painting to photography. I grew up in Mount Vernon where luscious green scenery was prominent, so how could I not? I won't lie, when I moved to Columbus I thought that was something I would miss in all of my shoots. Plot twist, I was very wrong. There are so many hidden gems around Columbus and I want to share them with you!
Currently, I live in Gahanna, OH. So, it only makes sense that part 1 of this series will take place at Creekside. This past fall, I did a bridal party shoot at Creekside and instantly knew I wanted to do a mini series with waterfalls. This session was incredible and I'll try to write about that experience in another blog post, but it quickly became one of my favorite sessions of 2025.
Flashback
When I saw the waterfall, my mind transported back to being a kid and skipping rocks on the river. In Mount Vernon, we had the Kokosing River. If you've ever been to Memorial Park, you can picture the tiny waterfall like ledge near the bridge. In high school, it was a pastime to go to the Kokosing and swim, skips rocks, and float. I have fond memories of summers there.
Here are some throwback photos I took around the Kokosing River when I was in high school:
Back to reality
I shot back to the present and realized that my new backyard still had the potential to bring these same feelings. What could be better than helping families and friends create moments like this? There are so many areas in Columbus, OH like this and my goal is to make new memories come to life.
I hope to give everyone a taste of what my summers felt like as a child and these mini sessions will be curated to do just that. These sessions are intended to be authentic and to capture your experience . . . touching grass, if you will. My hope is that following your session, you keep having fun at the park and that is becomes a place you come back to and look on fondly. The mini sessions are truly a taste of what your experience can be. For anyone that wants to spend more time taking in these moments, I do have an extended waterfall session option.
I hope that you consider joining me for one of these sessions. If you have questions, I'm just an e-mail away.
Stay tuned as more session locations are released!
